Indeed has launched its Indeed App in ChatGPT in Australia, extending a rollout that now covers more than 50 countries. This integration allows job seekers to search for roles using natural language, including filters for remote work and specific skills, directly within the ChatGPT interface.
How It Works
Users can start a search from the ChatGPT apps menu or by using @Indeed in a prompt. The app accesses Indeed's vast job listings and can tailor recommendations based on an attached Indeed profile, including saved preferences, qualifications, and work history. When a user decides to apply, they are directed to Indeed's website or mobile app to complete the process.
Key Features
- Natural Language Search: Find roles that match specific requirements, such as "remote data analyst jobs" or "part-time graphic designer roles."
- Company Insights: Alongside listings, the app provides company overviews and employee ratings, giving candidates more background on employers.
- Profile Integration: Leverage your existing Indeed profile for personalized recommendations.
Why This Matters
This launch reflects a broader shift in online recruitment as platforms explore how generative AI can assist earlier in the hiring journey. By placing job discovery inside ChatGPT, Indeed is adding another route into its marketplace as conversational AI becomes a common starting point for online searches. Indeed's matching technology, developed over two decades, analyzes more than 140 million daily hiring signals to improve relevance and accuracy.
Wider Collaboration
The Australian rollout is part of Indeed's broader work with OpenAI. Earlier this year, Indeed introduced the app in the US and is now expanding to additional markets. Sol Garger, VP of Product at Indeed, noted: "Career inspiration often strikes in unexpected places. Integrating Indeed's vast hiring marketplace and advanced matching with ChatGPT helps job seekers turn those moments into action."
For remote job seekers, this integration offers a convenient way to explore opportunities without leaving the chat interface, making it easier to act on spontaneous career ideas.
