About the role

Technical Support Engineer | Remote, Australia | Up to AUD 120k + super

I’m working with a fast-growing cloud security company. They’re now building out their Australian team and are hiring a Technical Support Engineer to help protect customers’ cloud and Kubernetes environments. It’s fully remote across Australia, and it’s a senior position handling complex customer escalations.

Responsibilities:

  • Own complex technical escalations from customers via Slack, chat and email.
  • Troubleshoot issues across cloud and Kubernetes environments, working closely with R&D and Product.
  • Build trust with customers by explaining solutions clearly and educating them on the platform.
  • Document fixes and contribute to the support knowledge base.

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role, such as support engineering, escalation or TAM. Engineers with plenty of customer contact who want to move into support are also welcome.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience beyond the basics.
  • Strong cloud knowledge across AWS, Azure or GCP. AWS is preferred.
  • Solid Linux and networking, plus Docker and containerisation.
  • Familiarity with MySQL, OpenSearch, Grafana or similar troubleshooting tools.
  • A cybersecurity background, especially cloud security, is a big plus.
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working with customers.

Package:

  • Up to AUD 120k + super
  • Share options
  • Fully remote (must be based in Australia, no visa sponsorship)
  • AUD 200 a month towards private health insurance
  • AUD 250 home office budget
  • 20 days’ annual leave + public holidays
  • A real chance to progress: the global team is set to double, and there are no team leads in Australia yet

The interview process includes a short take-home task and a hands-on Kubernetes session, so it’s a great chance to show what you can do.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, send me a message, ideally with a CV or a mobile number, and I’ll follow up with a call.
