About Outstaffer
Outstaffer helps founders and small businesses find, hire and manage skilled people. Founded in 2020, we've grown to work with 500+ companies and are backed by leading Australian investors.
We combine AI-powered recruitment with experienced recruiters, so clients get the right person faster. As an AI-first organisation, the tools we sell are the same ones we use every day. We're also a fully remote company, with our team spread across multiple countries.
Your new role
Ready to own the client side of the desk? As our Business Development Recruiter, you'll win job orders from Australian employers and manage each relationship from first call through to placement. Our recruitment team runs delivery behind you, so your time goes into selling. You'll be:
- Building a strong Australian client network through business development, referrals and industry events
- Making consultative sales calls that open new accounts and grow existing relationships
- Finding new clients through lead generation, market mapping and targeted outreach
- Partnering with hiring managers and becoming their go-to source for high quality and cost effective recruitment solutions
- Raising your profile, and Outstaffer's, at industry events and on LinkedIn
- Running client briefings and setting clear expectations on fees, timelines and candidate quality
- Briefing our recruitment team on each role and managing delivery on the client's behalf
- Turning one-off reqs into repeat business across new teams and roles
- Hitting monthly and quarterly targets for new clients, job orders and placement revenue, and keeping the CRM current
What you'll need to succeed
The right person for this role is an experienced agency recruiter who has built a desk on business development and can show the numbers behind it. You'll bring:
- 8+ years in Australian agency recruitment, with a strong record of billing and business development
- Experience on a high-volume, local desk at a major agency
- An established network of hiring managers and HR leaders across Australia that you can leverage from day one
- A track record you can share: billings, new clients won, job orders per month, fill rates
- Comfort selling a service and leaning on a delivery team, rather than running every search yourself
- Sound commercial judgment on fees and terms
- Current knowledge of the Australian market: salary benchmarks, candidate availability and hiring trends in your sectors
- A self-starter mindset suited to building a territory in a growing business
You'll need full working rights in Australia.
What you'll get in return
This is a chance to build something, not just fill a seat. You'll join a scale-up early, with the pace, visibility and AI skills that come with it.
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission, with the structure shaped together with you
- Commission on every placement from the clients you win and grow
- A recruitment team that handles delivery, so you spend your time selling
- An AI-first workplace, where AI is built into how we source, screen, sell and run the business
- Daily hands-on use of the latest AI tools, so your AI skills grow faster here than almost anywhere else in recruitment
- The pace of a fast-growing scale-up, where your results are visible and your ideas get acted on
- A seat in a growing go-to-market team with direct input into how the function is built
What you need to do now
If this sounds like your next move, apply with your CV and a short note on your billings and client base over the last two years.
