We're looking for a talented AI Engineer who loves building things, solving complex problems and turning emerging AI technology into real-world products.

We're developing Report Studio, our AI-powered medico-legal report assistant, bringing together intelligent document processing, transcription, AI-assisted reporting and workflow automation.

About the Role

You'll help design, build and deliver the AI capabilities that power Report Studio.

Working across modern AI technologies, you'll develop intelligent systems that can understand complex information, automate workflows and assist professionals in preparing medico-legal reports.

Our core technology stack includes Python, React, TypeScript and Microsoft Azure. You'll primarily focus on AI engineering and backend services, while collaborating closely with our development team to integrate AI capabilities into the applications and interfaces our customers use.

You'll be involved in the full engineering lifecycle — from designing solutions and building prototypes through to production deployment, evaluation and continuous improvement.

You'll report directly to Pri, our Head of Engineering, working closely with our product and engineering teams to deliver new AI capabilities.

We're looking for someone with strong technical foundations, sound engineering judgement and the confidence to take ownership of meaningful work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and integrate AI-powered features into Report Studio.
• Build and maintain Python-based AI services, backend APIs and integrations.
• Develop intelligent AI agents and automated workflows that simplify complex medico-legal processes.
• Build applications using large language models, generative AI and modern AI APIs.
• Integrate AI services into our React and TypeScript applications, collaborating with frontend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Create solutions for document understanding, information extraction, transcription and AI-assisted report drafting.
• Work within our Microsoft Azure environment to develop and deploy scalable AI services.
• Evaluate AI outputs and continuously improve accuracy, reliability, performance and cost efficiency.
• Explore emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve our products.
• Design with privacy, security and appropriate human oversight in mind, particularly when handling sensitive medical and legal information.
• Collaborate across the engineering team to build reliable, maintainable and production-ready software.

What You'll Bring

We're more interested in what you can build than how many AI frameworks you can list on your CV.

Ideally, you'll have:

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including demonstrated hands-on experience developing AI-powered applications.
• Strong Python programming skills, including backend development, APIs and system integrations.
• Practical experience designing, building and deploying applications using LLMs, generative AI or AI APIs.
• A solid understanding of modern AI application development, including prompting, structured outputs, tool use and orchestration.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript or modern frontend development, and an understanding of how AI capabilities integrate into user-facing applications.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, debugging, version control, code reviews and maintainable architecture.
• Experience with cloud-based development and modern deployment practices.
• The ability to evaluate AI system performance, identify limitations and implement practical improvements.
• Confidence taking ownership of engineering problems and delivering solutions with minimal supervision.
• A genuine passion for emerging AI technologies and a willingness to continuously learn and adapt.

Most importantly, we want someone who can turn ideas into reliable, working solutions.

While we're targeting engineers with 3–5 years of experience, we also welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate exceptional practical capability.

Nice to Have

Experience with any of the following would be valuable, but isn't essential:

• Microsoft Azure, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search or related services.
• Hands-on frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• AI agents, tool calling and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases or embedding models.
• Speech-to-text, transcription, OCR or intelligent document processing technologies.
• FastAPI, containerisation, CI/CD pipelines or cloud deployment.
• Experience working with sensitive information, healthcare, legal technology or regulated industries.

You don't need to tick every box. Strong engineering fundamentals, demonstrated capability and the ability to learn are what matter most.
