Role Description
This is a part time contract-based, remote role for a Logistics Operations Executive. The primary responsibilities include coordinating vehicle transport processes, managing communications between transport providers and customers, ensuring timely updates on shipment statuses, and overseeing the end-to-end logistics process. Additional duties involve providing excellent customer service, optimising operational workflows, and supporting the sales team as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and book transport services with suppliers to secure competitive rates
- Match customer shipment requirements with appropriate supplier capacity
- Build and maintain strong relationships with transport suppliers
- Onboard, vet, and maintain records for new suppliers
- Create, manage, and monitor jobs from booking through completion
- Track job milestones and proactively identify risks or delays
- Provide clear, timely job status updates to customers
- Escalate operational issues and exceptions as required
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and payments
- Reconcile supplier invoices and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records across all operational activities
- Manage job data, pricing, and updates within company systems
- Ensure platform data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Perform general administrative tasks across key internal systems
- Identify recurring operational issues and propose process improvements
- Contribute to better documentation and workflows over time
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service and Communication skills to effectively manage client and provider interactions.
- Experience in Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management to oversee efficient transportation processes.
- Proven Sales skills to identify and leverage business opportunities in the logistics marketplace.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to ensure smooth operations and address any challenges promptly.
- Proficiency in logistics software or tools would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with vehicle transport or fleet management is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
