Our Editorial Assistant is moving into an Editor role, so we are recruiting a new Editorial Assistant. If you would love a career in publishing but don't know where to start, this entry-level position could be ideal for you.

Apricot Zebra Pty Ltd has been providing high-quality publishing services to government since 2010. We specialise in project management, research, writing, editing, proofreading and indexing. Our clients are subject-matter experts, such as lawyers, scientists, academics and government specialists, who need to communicate important information effectively to non-expert audiences. We are committed to helping our clients deliver polished and engaging content to meet their objectives.
Role description
The Editorial Assistant role combines administrative and basic editing tasks. The role is extremely varied, so you'll need to be flexible in managing your time. The position is 100% remote, so you’ll need to be self-directed, organised and highly motivated.
The Editorial Assistant is responsible for:
· communicating with and managing clients
· managing the company's shared diary and work schedule
· coordinating project tasks and timelines
· supporting the editorial team and the company with various tasks, such as website and process updates
· drafting quotes and invoices
· completing basic editing tasks.
Hours of work are negotiable.
Experience, personal attributes and qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
· excellent communication and client liaison skills
· strong organisational and project management skills
· a high level of attention to detail
· excellent Word skills
· the ability to work independently in a remote role
· an interest in publishing
· enthusiasm for learning new skills and taking on challenges.
