Role DescriptionThe Business Research Analyst / Investment Research Assistant is responsible for conducting structured research, analyzing financial and business data, and delivering actionable insights to support investment decisions, strategic planning, and business development initiatives. This role transforms complex datasets and market information into clear, evidence-based recommendations.Key responsibilities include collecting, validating, and analyzing data from financial reports, industry publications, databases, market research sources, and internal systems. The role performs quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate company performance, market trends, industry dynamics, and investment opportunities.The position prepares research reports, investment summaries, financial models, competitive analyses, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders. It supports valuation work, market sizing, benchmarking, risk analysis, scenario modeling, and forecasting to assist in decision-making processes.The role collaborates with finance, strategy, product, and investment teams to define research objectives, refine methodologies, and ensure insights align with business and portfolio goals. It also supports due diligence processes by organizing financial information, identifying risks, and summarizing key findings.Continuous monitoring of economic trends, capital markets, industry developments, and regulatory changes is required to ensure research outputs remain relevant, timely, and accurate.QualificationsStrong understanding of financial analysis, investment research, corporate finance, business analysis, valuation methods, and market research principles. Ability to interpret complex financial and business data.Proficiency in spreadsheet modeling, financial analysis tools, presentation software, and data analysis platforms. Familiarity with statistical tools, databases, and business intelligence tools is an advantage.Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate financial statements, assess investment opportunities, and identify market trends.Knowledge of valuation techniques (DCF, comparables), financial modeling, industry research, risk analysis, and forecasting methods.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional research reports, investment briefs, and analytical presentations for diverse stakeholders.
