Role Description The Procurement Specialist / Supply Chain Analyst role at Sophia focuses on supporting data-driven purchasing decisions and optimizing supply chain processes. This part-time, remote role involves analyzing demand forecasts, monitoring inventory levels, and identifying cost-saving opportunities across procurement activities. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and interpreting data from suppliers and internal systems, preparing reports and dashboards, and recommending adjustments to procurement strategies and supply plans. The role also includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to align purchasing with business needs, managing vendor information, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation for public tenders and related processes. The specialist will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping refine workflows and leverage AI-driven insights within Sophia’s platform.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply strong analytical skills to demand planning, forecasting, and data interpretation.
- Experience with supply chain operations, including coordination of procurement activities and supplier management.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices, stock control, and optimization of inventory levels.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis tools; familiarity with ERP or supply chain software is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Interest or experience in public procurement, tender processes, or AI-driven business tools is a plus.
