Job Description

Posted on: August 30, 2026

With three high-performing student branches in Melbourne and Sydney supported by a layer of working professional advisors, Global Consulting Group helps not-for-profits and social enterprises solve real-world problems while developing the next generation of talent.

At GCG Headquarters, the General Manager of People & Culture leads GCG’s people function, overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, community engagement and alumni relations while supporting effective structures and collaboration across Headquarters and branches.

What's in it for you?

  • Shape the employee experience: Influence how GCG attracts, develops, engages and retains its people, while supporting the growth of high-potential students and professionals.
  • Gain strategic exposure: Work closely with the C-Suite and branch leaders on organisational structure, succession planning and broader people priorities.
  • Flexible, remote work: Volunteer with flexibility, with responsibilities designed to fit around your full-time role.

In this role, you will

  • Lead P&C Team: Manage the team to coordinate organisation-wide people initiatives.
  • Oversee Recruitment & Workforce Planning: Support staffing, onboarding, succession planning and workforce needs across GCG.
  • Build Community: Oversee social and engagement initiatives that strengthen connection across GCG’s remote workforce.
  • Manage Alumni Engagement: Maintain relationships with GCG alumni and support ongoing communication and involvement.
  • Support Branches & Partner with Leadership: Work with the C-Suite, branch leaders and other teams to review structures, improve people processes and support organisation-wide priorities.

To be a successful candidate, you will

  • Be able to contribute 3-6 hours per week.
  • Have 3+ years of HR/P&C experience, ideally in an organisation with 50+ members.
  • Have experience managing projects and leading a team.
  • Be proactive, autonomous and highly motivated.
  • Have strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
  • Be committed to excellence, development and GCG’s values.
  • HR, Psychology or related background and previous not-for-profit experience desirable but not essential

Please note that this is an unpaid Volunteer Opportunity supporting GCG’s mission to create meaningful impact for students, clients, and the community. We will review applications and conduct interviews on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
