  • An exciting opportunity to join Equality Institute (EQI); a purpose-driven organisation working to end violence against women and girls and advance gender equality globally.
  • Join at a defining moment, as EQI establishes and launches All In: Global Leaders for Ending Gender-Based Violence; a bold new initiative to catalyse global leadership, collaboration, and investment in prevention.
  • This role provides critical strategic, operational and coordination support to ensure the effective delivery of All In’s objectives, priorities and activities.
  • A unique opportunity to drive high-impact projects, partnerships and operations that bring global leaders together to end gender-based violence.
  • Full-time (1.0) two-year fixed-term position with flexible working arrangements available.
  • A national remote role, with on-site office in Naarm (Melbourne) available.
  • $80,000 - $100,000 (FTE) + superannuation.

Role summary

The Program Lead - All In provides strategic, operational, and executive coordination support to enable the effective delivery and impact of the initiative.

Reporting to the Strategic Director – All In Secretariat, this role ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of the Secretariat by managing meetings, systems, documentation, and workflows that support governance, project delivery, and reporting. The Program Lead works closely with the Communications Lead, EQI’s Operations and Finance teams, and external partners to coordinate activities, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with organisational systems and policies.

The Program Lead plays a key enabling role in maintaining the strategic and operational backbone of the Secretariat, ensuring systems, processes, and relationships function efficiently to support All In and advance EQI’s mission to end VAWG.

Who you are (selection criteria)

  • You hold tertiary qualifications in social sciences, international development, gender studies, public policy, project management, or a related field (or possess equivalent experience).
  • You have experience providing strategic, operational, administrative, or project coordination support, working in agile and high-performance environments.
  • You bring strong organisational and coordination skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, track deliverables, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • You are confident developing and managing new systems and processes to support documentation, and reporting, and you take pride in creating structure and clarity for others.
  • You have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and you can engage effectively with diverse stakeholders; from internal colleagues to government, donor, and civil-society partners.
  • You may have experience working with budgets, invoices, or financial records, and are comfortable liaising with finance teams to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • You are proactive and solutions-focused, able to anticipate needs, adapt to changing circumstances, and keep projects on track with minimal supervision.
  • You are a strong team player who values collaboration, inclusion, and clear communication, and you thrive in a small, fast-moving environment where everyone contributes to shared goals.
  • You are culturally responsive, intersectional, and grounded in feminist and decolonial principles, bringing this lens to how you lead, partner, and make decisions.
  • You are passionate about advancing gender equality and preventing violence against women and girls, and you approach your work with integrity, empathy, and purpose.

Research indicates that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalised individuals often wait until they fulfil every requirement. If you believe you have the attributes to do the job but don't match every point on the job ad, we welcome and encourage your application.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the strategic and operational activities of All In to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning, including Panel and Expert Advisory Group meetings, stakeholder meetings, events and partnerships
  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of All In’s projects, events, and activities in line with agreed timelines and deliverables and direction from the Communications Lead.
  • Support effective communication and coordination between the Secretariat, Panel members, and key partners.
  • Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation (MEL) frameworks, including data collection, progress tracking, and reporting.
  • Lead financial oversight activities, including monitoring budgets, managing invoices and expenses, and supporting funder reporting to ensure compliance and strategic resource management.

Who We Are

Equality Institute (EQI) is a global feminist agency working to end violence against women and girls.

We are values-driven and underpinned by feminist principles in the ways we work and how we conduct ourselves. We actively apply an understanding of intersectionality in our work and are committed to having diversity reflected in our workplace.

Our values are active:

  • Strive for Equality
  • Stay Curious
  • Be Courageous
  • Find the Joy

They are not merely slogans but are embedded into the structure of our organisation, and manifest in the approach we take, work we do, and systems we build.

We approach everything with an intersectional feminist lens. While violence affects women and girls across the world, different layers of people’s identities—such as their socio-economic status, indigeneity, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, HIV status, minority status, age, and so on—impact the ways in which they are discriminated against and the types of violence perpetrated against them. Thus, our work aims to address not just gender inequality but all forms of inequality and systems of oppression in an interconnected way.

We ask questions instead of making assumptions and take an evidence-based approach to create effective change. We recognise vulnerability as a strength and dare to be different. We actively find the joy and share it, and we create systems that enable and support self and collective care.

These are just some of the ways in which our values manifest in the work we do.

What We Offer

  • True flexibility and a strong focus on agility in the workplace; we prioritise making flexible work arrangements possible for all employees.
  • A diverse team, dedicated to fostering a positive workplace culture and making meaningful impact in the world.
  • We offer a staff profit-sharing scheme which aims to distribute a percentage of any remaining surplus funds on an annual basis to eligible employees.
  • Gifted 5 additional days of annual leave.
  • Gifted 3 additional days of personal leave.
  • As an organisation striving for equality, we offer 20 days (pro-rata for part-timers) paid family and domestic violence leave per year to support those affected by family violence.
  • Policies and procedures which promote diversity and intersectionality; building upon our strong feminist foundation.
  • Continuous learning and development opportunities with an organisational-wide Learning and Development Calendar as well as a personal professional development budget per employee, per calendar year.
  • In-person staff retreats where we connect as one team.
  • Employee Assistance Program, giving employees free access to capped confidential counselling from qualified psychologists or counsellors.
  • A psychologically and physically safe working environment where your wellbeing is prioritised.
