Grants Officer
Job Description
Posted on: January 28, 2026
FRRR (Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal) is entering an exciting new phase, bringing all granting portfolios together into a single, streamlined structure. As part of this, they're looking for a Grants Officer to join their collaborative and fast-paced grants team, supporting programs that strengthen rural, regional and remote communities across Australia. This is a part-time role (30 hours per week) with genuine flexibility in how those hours are worked - whether that’s spreading them across the week or taking a regular day off. About The Role This is a highly people-facing, administrative role with significant community interaction. You’ll work closely with Program Managers and fellow Grants Officers to support the full grants lifecycle - from enquiries and applications through to assessment and reporting. While the position has a strong administrative focus, success in the role is really about customer service, empathy, organisation and adaptability. Granting cycles can be tight and workloads fluctuate, so you’ll need to be comfortable working at pace when programs are live. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative support across multiple grant programs
- Act as a first point of contact for applicants and grantees via phone and email
- Support grant assessments, due diligence, reporting and documentation
- Maintain accurate records within FRRR’s grants management system
- Work closely with two Program Managers, balancing deadlines and priorities
- Contribute to team workload sharing during peak granting periods
- Participate in daily team check-ins to manage workflow and support each other
About you
- Previous experience in grant administration is highly desirable (local government, philanthropy, NFP or community development)
- Strong customer service skills - friendly, empathetic and approachable
- Highly organised, accurate and able to work under pressure
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Strong written communication skills
- Understanding of - and lived experience in - rural or regional communities
Why join FRRR?
- Purpose-driven work supporting communities where it matters most
- Flexible, part-time hours (30 hours per week)
- Remote or Bendigo-based role
- Supportive manager and highly collaborative team culture
- Comprehensive induction and ongoing support
- A dynamic organisation experiencing positive growth and change
