Computer Engineering – AI Data TrainerAbout The Role We're looking for computer engineering experts to help train and improve the next generation of AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI reasons about hardware design, computer architecture, embedded systems, and low-level software — making a real impact on the future of intelligent systems. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your expertise becomes the benchmark for AI excellence.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced computer engineering scenarios spanning RISC-V/ARM architecture, FPGA development, memory management, hardware-software co-design, and embedded systems
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions including assembly code, HDL snippets (Verilog/VHDL), and architectural diagrams that serve as the gold standard for AI training
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated code (C/C++, Verilog, VHDL), logic gate designs, and OS kernel implementations for technical accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify and document failure modes like race conditions, memory leaks, and improper timing constraints, then provide structured feedback to improve model reasoning
- Work Asynchronously — Complete assignments independently on a schedule that works for you
Who You Are
- Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science (hardware focus), or a closely related field
- Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of: Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Digital Logic Design, or Operating Systems
- Able to communicate complex hardware and low-level software concepts clearly in writing
- High attention to detail — comfortable working at the level of bit operations, clock-cycle timing, and technical specifications
- No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, or ANSYS
- Hands-on experience with FPGA toolchains, real-time operating systems, or embedded hardware platforms
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects in partnership with leading AI research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule from anywhere
- Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
- Get inside access to how advanced large language models are built and trained
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
