Freelance Illustrator – Anime Book Project

This role is ideal for a talented illustrator with a passion for manga or anime styles, seeking to contribute to a newly completed book project moving into publication. The initial focus will be on designing compelling cover art for all book versions, with the opportunity to create additional artwork for the hardcover edition, including comic strips and graphs. There is also potential for ongoing collaboration, such as designing merchandise for an online shop and further book-related artwork. The first assignment will be the cover design, serving as a trial for future work. All project specifics, creative direction, and expectations will be discussed during a discovery call. Responsibilities

• Design original cover artwork for all book formats, ensuring visual appeal and alignment with the manga/anime style
• Create interior illustrations for the hardcover edition, including comic strips and graphical elements
• Develop merchandise designs for an online shop, such as prints or apparel
• Collaborate closely to understand project vision and adapt to feedback
• Deliver high-quality, print-ready files within agreed timelines
• Participate in a discovery call to clarify project requirements and creative direction

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience as an illustrator, with a strong portfolio in manga or anime styles
• Proficiency in digital illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or similar)
• Ability to create both cover and interior artwork, including comic strips and infographics
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow creative briefs
• Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback
• Availability for ongoing collaboration if the initial project is successful
• Experience designing for print and merchandise is a plus
