Company Description

Rebate Spy AU helps Victorian homeowners navigate solar and battery rebates, connecting them with quality installers and making the switch to solar simple, transparent, and affordable. We're a fast-moving remote sales operation with a tight-knit team of closers and setters, and we're growing fast.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote position for an experienced Solar Sales Manager. You'll be the engine room of our phone-based sales team — coaching closers, reviewing calls, running daily meetings, and jumping in to rescue deals that are slipping away. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job. If a closer is struggling to get a customer over the line, you're on the phone closing it. If someone's numbers are slipping, you're in their calls fixing it.

We sell solar and battery systems to Victorian homeowners — primarily $0 upfront battery programs — over the phone. Our team works remotely and moves fast. You need to match that energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate a team of phone-based solar sales closers
  • Work closely with our setter manager about appointment quality and with me, the director, for marketing feedback on lead quality
  • Conduct structured call reviews of recorded sales calls and deliver actionable feedback to reps
  • Run daily team sales meetings — pipeline reviews, motivation, targets, and training moments
  • Barge into live calls or complete customer callbacks to close deals closers couldn't seal
  • Monitor individual and team KPIs and hold reps accountable to performance standards
  • Track key metrics in our spreadsheet such as show rate, offer rate, close rate, 1 call closers, follow up closes & more
  • Maintain deep product knowledge across solar and battery systems, including Alpha ESS, Fox ESS, GoodWe, Sigenergy, and other key brands
  • Stay current on Victorian government rebates, STC incentives, and any state-based battery programs
  • Guide customers and reps through residential finance options including Plenti, Brighte, and Humm
  • Work closely with operations to ensure smooth handover from sale to installation
  • Contribute to script development, objection handling frameworks, and sales process improvements
  • Report on team performance metrics and flag issues early

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a top-performing closer or sales manager in residential solar
  • Deep knowledge of solar and battery products, system sizing, and residential installation requirements
  • Thorough understanding of Victorian solar and battery rebate structures (STC, VEU, battery incentives)
  • Hands-on experience with residential finance products — Plenti, Brighte, and Humm
  • Comfortable closing deals live on the phone — this is non-negotiable
  • Strong coaching ability with experience delivering call feedback and driving rep improvement
  • Confident running daily sales meetings and keeping a remote team focused and motivated
  • Proficient with OpenSolar & CRM tools and comfortable working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills — clear, direct, and persuasive

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing remote phone-based solar sales teams
  • Familiarity with battery-specific sales programs and $0 upfront finance structures
  • Experience with Close CRM, or similar sales platforms
  • Ability to contribute to script writing and sales training material

  • Full-time remote role — work from anywhere in Australia
  • Competitive base + performance-based incentives - the right applicant can essentially choose their pay structure. OTE will be $200k+.
  • Work with one of the top teams in Victoria - we sell 15-35 systems per week and we want to grow to 50+ a week fast. Our top closer sold 48 deals last month, I personally used to sell 10-20 every week in my sales hayday and am currently managing, hiring and training our team.
