Senior iOS Engineer (Contract) – Core Transactional Product

Remote | 6-Month Contract

We’re working with a global, high-scale digital product business on a core mobile feature build focused on real-time user transactions and performance-critical flows.

This is not a standard app role, it sits right at the heart of the product, where speed, reliability, and user experience directly impact revenue.

We’re looking for a seasoned iOS engineer who can come in, own complex features, and operate confidently in a distributed, fast-moving team.

What you’ll be working on

• Building and optimising real-time transactional user flows (high interaction, low latency)
• Developing high-performance mobile features used at scale
• Working closely with backend, product, and design on end-to-end feature delivery
• Handling edge cases, failure states, and performance bottlenecks in critical user journeys
• Contributing to architecture decisions and improving code quality across the app

What we’re looking for

• Strong commercial experience with Swift and modern iOS architecture (UIKit / SwiftUI)
• Experience working on high-traffic, consumer-facing apps
• (fintech, marketplaces, trading platforms, real-time products etc.)
• Proven track record of building complex user flows end-to-end
• Strong understanding of:
• API-heavy environments and asynchronous data handling
• State management and navigation in complex apps
• Performance optimisation and responsiveness
• Error handling, retries, and edge-case scenarios
• Ability to write clean, scalable, production-grade code
• Comfortable working remotely with clear communication across global teams
