Azure Cloud Architect

Position Overview

Cynterra is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect join our growing team.

In this role, you will work closely with customers to design, implement, and support secure, scalable infrastructure solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.

You’ll be involved in delivering modern cloud connectivity and security solutions that integrate with on-premises systems and enterprise networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions for customers
• Work primarily with Azure, including integration with physical network infrastructure
• Support and manage secure networking, connectivity, and identity solutions
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality technical outcomes
• Troubleshoot and optimise systems across cloud, network, and security domains

Required Experience & Skills

You should have experience in several of the following areas:

• Microsoft Azure (Entra ID, Virtual Networking, Azure Virtual Desktop)
• Networking Skills (such as IPsec, VPN, ExpressRoute)
• Experience building secure systems with firewalls
• Windows Server administration and Intune policy management

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience working with Azure
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP and related protocols)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
• Relevant university degree (or equivalent experience)
• Must be an Australian Citizen (required for security clearance eligibility)

Additional Information

This role is primarily focused on cloud-based solutions, often integrated with traditional network infrastructure. It will suit cloud engineers looking to deepen their networking and security expertise.

All roles are fully remote (Australia-wide), with occasional travel required to customer sites (typically Canberra).

Security Clearance

This role requires eligibility for an Australian Government Security Clearance. Only Australian citizens can be considered. Cynterra will arrange and cover the cost of the clearance process.

Salary

Up to $200,000 package, depending on experience.
