About CI-ISAC

CI-ISAC Australia is a not-for-profit, member-driven organisation, and the only cyber threat intelligence sharing community focused on the owners and operators of Australia’s critical infrastructure. We help members across sectors like finance, health, government, energy and telecommunications anticipate, mitigate and respond to cyber threats through trusted, peer-to-peer intelligence sharing. Members consistently tell us our intelligence is the best they receive.

We are a small team that has built something significant. Our intelligence capability, our sharing networks and our technology platforms are in place. The work now is to make the way we find, secure and retain members as good as the intelligence we produce. This role exists to build that machinery.

About the Role

This is the role that makes everyone else in Growth effective.

Our growth function runs on relationships and credibility, and our people are good at both. What we need to build are the systems and discipline underneath: playbooks for various audiences, timely follow-ups after meetings, weave together disparate sources of in-house data, and a pipeline reporting system the organisation and Board can rely on.

You will own that discipline. You won’t be selling, and you won’t be running the marketing function. You will be the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks, that our systems reflect reality, and that when a colleague walks into a member conversation they walk in prepared.

The role will suit someone with an operational mindset. People who bring order and clarity through systems, processes, and new thinking..

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. Subject to Board approval and our revenue position at the time, there may be an opportunity to convert to a permanent position at the end of the term. We have said this openly because the possibility is real, and because it is not a commitment we can make today.

What You’ll Do

Keep the CRM honest. Own funnel data quality across our CRM: contacts, organisations, opportunity stages, cohorts and prospect segmentation. Our forecasting, board reporting and management of prospects all depend on the records being right, and today they are not reliable enough.

Translate growth’s needs into innovative systems. You are the bridge between what Growth needs and the technology team who build it. Our Enterprise Technology function does the platform development: automations, workflows, integrations and reporting enablement. Your job is to define the requirement clearly, specify what success looks like, keep the request moving, test what comes back, and confirm it is fit for purpose before it goes live. Once delivered, you will often be the person who runs it day to day on Growth’s behalf.

Drive the follow-up cadence. Manage the follow-up task cycle across the growth team using our CRM and work management tooling. Prompt the next action, pre-draft routine correspondence so the person owning the relationship only has to personalise and send, and make sure a two-week check-in actually happens at two weeks.

Act on assurance triggers. Our Business Operations team owns assurance across the organisation, you will work closely with them to proactively action any triggered events that require action to get things back on track.

Prepare the team for member conversations. Produce pre-call briefs: what the prospect does, who we are meeting, and what comparable members in a similar sector and at a similar level of maturity get from us. Pull the data that lets our team open with evidence and cite value proof points from equivalent members.

Report the funnel. Produce the monthly funnel and pipeline reporting that goes to the Board: expressions of interest, prospects, validated opportunities, stage movement, weighted and total pipeline, new revenue. Everything comes out of the CRM, not spreadsheets. Where something has not moved, help us figure out why.

Run association and event follow-up. Build and manage the follow-up lists from association engagements, webinars and conferences: attendee and non-attendee lists, follow-up packages, allocation of who contacts whom, and completion tracking. Develop and maintain an “event in a box” so the checklist, materials and follow-up sequence are not rebuilt for every event.

Capture what things cost. Record the effort and collateral cost per engagement across associations, events and campaigns, so we can compare growth channels based on evidence.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Three to five years in a role where organisation and follow-through were the job: coordination, enablement, project support, account support, ministerial or executive office, consulting analyst, or similar. What matters is a track record of holding a lot of moving parts and dropping none of them.
  • Exceptional prioritisation. You will support several people with competing urgent requests and will need to judge what actually matters this week.
  • Real discipline with systems and data. Inconsistent records bother you, and you will chase a colleague to close out a task properly.
  • The ability to specify a business requirement to a technical team, test what is delivered, and hold it to the standard you asked for. You will not be building it, but you will need to know what good looks like and say so before it lands in production.
  • Proficiency with CRM and workflow tooling, such as Zoho, Salesforce or HubSpot, and Jira, Asana or Trello, with the confidence to learn ours quickly and be useful within weeks.
  • Numeracy sufficient to produce reporting that stands up to Board scrutiny. Any figure you report needs to be right, and you need to know where it came from.
  • Clear, concise written English. You will write briefs that busy people read in two minutes, and pre-draft correspondence that goes out under someone else’s name.
  • Self-direction. We are a small team without layers of oversight; you will be given a problem and expected to come back with it solved, or with a specific question.
  • Discretion. You will work daily with sensitive member information, pipeline data and sensitive threat material. Handling it carefully is not negotiable.
  • A cross-functional temperament. This role sits between growth, marketing, operations and technology, and works with all of them.
  • Based in Australia with full working rights.

Highly regarded

  • Exposure to cyber security, threat intelligence, GRC, or a security-adjacent vendor, consultancy or industry body. This is not a technical role, but curiosity about the domain will make you better at it.
  • Experience within a critical infrastructure organisation, or a government or public sector background.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit, membership body, industry association, or other trust-led organisation.
  • A background in a ministerial or parliamentary office, management consulting, or a government graduate programme.
  • Experience gathering requirements, running user acceptance testing, or acting as business owner for a system implementation.
  • Experience building reports or dashboards from a CRM.
  • Formal or practical project management experience.
  • Alignment with CI-ISAC’s not-for-profit mission of building collective cyber defence for Australia’s critical infrastructure.

Security clearance: Not required for this role, but you will need to be willing to undergo a right to work and police check.

Your Application

A cover letter is required; applications without one will not be assessed. Combine your cover letter and CV into a single PDF document.

In your cover letter, tell us:

  • About a time you took something disorganised and made it work: what the mess was, what you changed, and how you knew it had improved. We are more interested in this than in a list of tools you have used.
  • How you keep track of your own work when several people are asking you for different things at once.
  • Why CI-ISAC, and what draws you to a role that makes other people more effective.

We read every cover letter. Take the time on it.

No agencies, recruiters or unsolicited approaches will be considered. Direct applicants only via LinkedIn — please don’t email us directly. You must be based in Australia, with full working rights.
