THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer (Learning and Development) to join our team! This role will report to the Learning and Development Manager, and provide support across our learning and development activities, including client relations, stakeholder management and support, and administrative tasks.
This is a Parental Leave cover of 12 months (with possibility of extension) commencing May 2026.
Your main role responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development, coordination and promotion of learning and development activities (including facilitation of training workshops, conferences, seminars, webinars, delivering masterclasses)
- Assisting the management of logistics, sponsorship, marketing, and communication of L&D activities
- Supporting the development and maintenance of policies, protocols, plans, and templates relating to event planning and marketing activities
- Regularly reviewing, evaluating, and reporting on L&D activities
- Monitoring and updating the AIGI and L&D calendars to support effective planning and scheduling
- Building and maintaining relationships with, and the positive experience of, key internal and external stakeholders
- Providing appropriate guidance, assistance, and information as required to stakeholders in a timely, professional manner
- Providing high-level support to AIGI's partners, collaborators, consultants, speakers, and participants in relation to L&D activities
- Any additional tasks that align with your role and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Learning and Resources or CEO
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful in this role, you ideally have:
- Relevant qualifications AND/OR relevant work experience working in education, training, or learning and development (qualifications are non-essential)
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous organisations, communities, and individuals in a culturally sensitive manner
- Knowledge of, and adherence to, Indigenous protocols, including respecting traditional leadership structures and ceremonies
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with proven experience in managing a complex array of stakeholders with sensitivity and diplomacy
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating training and/or workshops and event planning
- High-level organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile organisation with competing priorities, pressures, and strict deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with limited supervision
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a team to achieve desired outcomes
- An ability to undertake interstate travel as required
