Bookkeeper / Accountant

The Australia & New Zealand Forum for AutoInflammatory Diseases (ANZFAID) is seeking a Volunteer Bookkeeper or Accountant to support the organisation’s financial recordkeeping and governance.

ANZFAID is a small not for profit charity supporting individuals and families affected by autoinflammatory diseases across Australia and New Zealand. This role provides an opportunity to contribute professional skills to a purpose driven organisation working in the rare disease sector.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain accurate financial records, including income, donations, grants and expenses

* Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

* Assist with preparation of financial reports for the Board

* Support budgeting and monitoring of expenditure

* Maintain records suitable for audit or review

* Support compliance with reporting requirements for the Australian Charities and not for profits Commission and the Australian Taxation Office

Skills and Experience

* Bookkeeping or accounting experience (professional or volunteer)

* Strong attention to detail and integrity

* Ability to manage confidential information appropriately

* Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) desirable

* Not for profit experience highly regarded

Time Commitment

Approximately 5 - 10 hours per month, flexible and remote.

This role does not include financial decision-making authority, with all approvals remaining with the Treasurer and Board.
