We are looking for a Team Leader with 10+ years experience in Cloud Platform Operations to join Atmail’s thriving company as part of its Cloud Platforms team. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the Platform Operations team, a group of individuals tasked with running and supporting the Atmail cloud platforms to ensure high availability, stability and secure environments. You will be working with the team and company-wide stakeholders to regularly review and prioritise the ongoing workload for your function, and coordinate timelines and priorities with other teams. The role is based in the APAC time zone alongside other team leaders in the Cloud Platforms team.
Key Accountabilities
- Work closely with the Director of Cloud Platforms to ensure Atmail delivers a highly available, stable and secure cloud service to our customers.
- Manage the Platform Operations team on a day-to-day basis, organising the workload, building a road map and report on progress against targets set.
- Engage with other Atmail teams to gather requirements and coordinate priorities and delivery timelines.
- Engage and contribute to the formation of operational plans and be a key member in the decision-making processes, role modelling desired behaviours and taking a whole of business perspective to drive our technology forwards.
- Assist in establishing appropriate measurements of success and participating in ensuring the standards are met.
- Ensure your team is appropriately skilled, trained and supported to achieve great outcomes for our customers.
- Resolve technical issues and facilitate technical communication between stakeholders to support customers and improve the product and customer experience.
- Provide technical guidance and facilitate technical communication between stakeholders to improve the product, service and customer experience.
- Build relationships and connections with industry networks, customers, and partners at the technical level, continuously scan the external environment and identify trends and innovation which informs Atmail's product and services.
- Assist as required in the resolution of customer problems providing technical support and solution guidance and identifying opportunities to delight the customer.
- Perform on call roster duties as required, resolving technical situations with the customer and business front of mind.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in hands-on technical roles in a software engineering and/or platform operations role, or similar;
- A total working experience of 15+ years, with at least 10 years in the field of Information Technology;
- Demonstrated ability to resolve customer problems and deliver holistic solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of an agile team environment with strong communication and collaboration skills;
- Extensive experience in systems programming languages and unix-based operating systems. This will include, but not limited to, the following technologies: bash, python, Linux, MySQL.
- Knowledge in cloud technologies such as, but not limited to: AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS and related services, Google Cloud Platform and related services.
- Broad industry knowledge and experience, as it relates to platform engineering, software development, quality assurance, security and SaaS operations methodologies;
- A Bachelor (or higher) degree in a technology field, or equivalent experience.
- A high level of initiative, proactivity, and informal leadership qualities with proven abilities to mentor and train staff.
- Demonstrated strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify improvements, determine priorities, multi-task and effectively and efficiently meet strict deadlines.
