Freelance Video Editor – Short Film Post-Production

This role is ideal for a skilled post-production professional with a passion for independent filmmaking. You will oversee the final stages of a short film shot across the US and UK, ensuring it is ready for festival submissions. The project requires a detail-oriented approach, creative problem-solving, and the ability to guide the post-production process from a remote location. You will collaborate closely with the filmmaker to deliver a polished final product that meets industry standards. Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of post-production, including editing, sound, and color grading
• Review and organize raw footage from multiple locations
• Develop and manage a post-production schedule to meet festival deadlines
• Provide creative input and technical guidance throughout the editing process
• Liaise with sound designers, colorists, and other post-production specialists as needed
• Ensure the final cut aligns with the director’s vision and storytelling goals
• Prepare deliverables for festival submission, including required formats and documentation
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions for workflow improvements

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience in post-production supervision or video editing for short films or similar projects
• Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid)
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially in remote settings
• Understanding of festival submission requirements and deliverable formats
