2D Animator – Musical Teaser Concept

This role is for a creative 2D animator to develop a short animated teaser for an original musical series in early development. The project centers on 'Keeper’s Corner,' a unique story set in a mystical, run-down café in purgatory, managed by two enigmatic characters: The Keeper and The Host. The aim is to produce a 5–10 second stylized teaser that captures the show’s moody, mystical, and charmingly unsettling atmosphere, inspired by the visual style of Hazbin Hotel and cosmic, Terry Pratchett-like storytelling. The teaser will focus on the café’s exterior and a scene where the Host welcomes a new soul, establishing the tone and world-building for the series. This is an opportunity to collaborate closely with a composer and musician, contributing to the visual identity of a musical series where each episode features original songs and character-driven storytelling. Responsibilities

• Develop a short (5–10 second) 2D animated teaser that visually establishes the mood, style, and setting of the series.
• Interpret creative direction and references to deliver a stylized, atmospheric animation inspired by Hazbin Hotel and cosmic fantasy themes.
• Design and animate the café exterior and a character introduction scene, focusing on mood, tone, and world-building.
• Collaborate with the project creator to discuss visual concepts, required assets, and feedback throughout the process.
• Ensure the final teaser aligns with the musical and narrative vision of the series.

Skills And Requirements

• Proficiency in 2D animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, TVPaint, or similar).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating stylized 2D animation, character design, and atmospheric world-building.
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and visual references to develop unique concepts.
• Experience with short-form animation, teasers, or concept reels.
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration and feedback.
• Availability for a single project with potential for future collaboration.
• Interest in musical storytelling and fantasy genres is a plus.
• Open to animators at beginner, junior, or mid-level experience.
