About the Role:

We’re seeking a locally based Public Relations Specialist who understands the Australian media landscape and can amplify Thinkable’s presence across the region. You’ll lead the charge in telling our story - landing press, building buzz, and making sure the right people are talking about the tour. This is a flexible, remote-friendly role ideal for someone who’s well-connected, strategic, and excited by big ideas and bold events.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a region-specific PR strategy that positions Thinkable as a premier destination for live, thought-provoking events.
• Build and manage relationships with local journalists, editors, broadcasters, podcast hosts, and digital media outlets.
• Draft and pitch compelling press releases and media kits that speak to the Australian cultural landscape.
• Secure coverage across major and alternative media platforms to build awareness and drive ticket sales for the Steven Pinker tour.
• Work closely with the Thinkable team to identify local partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
• Advise on cultural nuances and tone to ensure brand messaging resonates with Australian audiences.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing regular reporting and recommendations.

Qualifications:

• 2-3+ years of experience in PR, communications, or media: experience in the events, entertainment, or cultural sectors is highly regarded.
• Strong media contacts across Australia (New Zealand a plus).
• Excellent writing skills with ability to turn big ideas into headlines that get noticed.
• Deep knowledge of the Australian media environment, and a strong feel for cultural currents.
• Passion for public discourse, live events, and the power of bold, intelligent ideas.
• Proactive, self-directed, and able to hit the ground running.
