About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate mid-level software engineer to build high-quality, scalable solutions that deliver real business impact. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a talented team to design, develop, and maintain robust systems, applying best practices in coding, architecture, and operational excellence. You’ll take ownership of features from concept to production, ensuring reliability, security, and performance, while continuously improving code quality and reducing technical debt. Key Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet business needs.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver impactful features and resolve technical challenges.
- Apply best practices in coding, testing, and architecture to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
- Monitor and improve application health through observability, error detection, and performance metrics.
- Take ownership of production issues and contribute to reducing technical debt and improving scalability.
- Communicate progress, decisions, and blockers effectively with the Engineering Manager and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and ethical business practices.
Do you have what it takes?
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology or software engineering (preferred, not required)
- 3 - 5 years experience in software development (preferred)
- Experience in the development of software solutions using Ruby on Rails, Javascript and PostgreSQL.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyse root causes, share solutions, and validate ideas using data.
- You've contributed as part of a team of engineers building features that delight customers
- Hungry to learn and grow as an engineer, deepening your understanding of technology and of how to build software in a team environment.
- Proactive in asking for help, sharing knowledge, and contributing to team learning and continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing priorities, and making informed decisions.
- Commitment to building sustainable, scalable solutions that align with business goals and technical best practices.
