Principal Software Engineer - $220k-$250k + super + shares - 2-year-old start-up - product company/AI platform - Sydney.

I've taken on a new PE role for an AI product business in the CX space... They deem themselves a fast-paced tech business with aggressive growth plans and are already signing up large enterprise customers across Australia and the USA.

This is an opportunity for an extremely hands-on Principal Engineer who can serve as the authoritative voice of reason within the team, while leading technical direction and critical architecture decisions with no people management!

After a rebuild of V1, the V2 platform replaces traditional static dashboards with a chat interface similar to Perplexity or ChatGPT, but with the crucial difference that it has complete context of every single customer conversation analysis.

Stack: Python, TypeScript, React, AWS, Docker, EKS

We'd love to have someone with enterprise product experience - not just someone who has built internal corporate tools, but someone with real product and software development experience.

Full disclosure - this will be intense at times (It’s a start-up). This engineer will join a team of six (engineers and data scientists) and work side by side with the CTO/Founder. This position is about defining and managing the “How do we do it”, while the CTO will explain “What we need to do”.

The team is remote-first from Australia. They do have an office in Sydney, if you wish to use it.
