Contract Manager
Job Description
Posted on: December 9, 2025
We don't get too many fully remote roles crossing our desks these days so this one is likely to be popular!
For those that like more of a hybrid working model, our client has offices in all the major cities... and Canberra.
Before you read on, this role requires baseline security clearance (NV1 preferred), so if you don't have that, this one isn't for you.
Our client is expanding its commercial and contracting capability and is seeking an experienced Contract Manager or Lawyer to support major ICT Panel Agreements and broader commercial matters across the business.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to commercial advisor—shaping responses to government tenders, negotiating complex terms, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance with Australia’s strict security and procurement frameworks.
What does an average day look like?
You’ll lead end-to-end contract management activities across Federal Government ICT panels, including:
- Preparing, reviewing and managing submissions to major ICT Panels (e.g., DTA, Defence ICT, Finance, ATO).
- Ensuring all responses align with commercial strategy, compliance requirements and internal policies.
- Negotiating contract terms using established playbooks, fallback positions and risk frameworks.
- Assessing risk across Statements of Work, Work Orders and broader commercial deliverables.
- Applying Commonwealth procurement frameworks (CPRs, PSPF, ISM) and supporting ITAR-related documentation.
- Managing security obligations for handling sensitive/protected information across Commonwealth and National Security environments.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely and compliant commercial submissions.
- Providing broader commercial support including drafting, redlining and negotiating MSAs, SOWs, RFx responses, Framework Agreements, Amendments and Change Requests.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience in Federal Government ICT procurement and contracting.
- Deep understanding of CPRs, PSPF, ISM and ITAR requirements.
- Proven track record negotiating complex commercial terms and managing risk.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders.
- At least 7 years’ relevant industry experience, including 3+ years in a similar contract management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Baseline clearance (NV1 preferred).
If you're a lawyer or contract management professional who knows your way around government procurement, thrives on structure and detail, and wants a role with genuine influence, we’d love to speak with you.
