AU Tax Accountant

Job Overview: This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with a few years of experience looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and delivering insightful reporting that drives business performance.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Conduct general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and tax regulations
• Support BAS, GST, FBT, and payroll tax reporting
• Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit schedules
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• With 3–5 years of accounting experience in a commercial or public practice environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
