The role The Planning Manager is the expert, hands-on leader of the planning function, driving operational and technical excellence to maximise revenue and efficiency for Miss Amara and Loopsie. Reporting directly to the Head of Merchandise, this role is accountable for controlling inventory and product lifecycles through precise data management, trend analysis, and strategic forecasting. The role involves technical oversight and task management of the Senior Planner, acting as the key link between executive strategy and detailed execution. What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive the detailed maintenance of the MFP document, ensuring all financial projections and reports are prepared for final review by the Head of Merchandise.
- Drive the OTB process, preparing all calculations, reconciling actuals, and recommending final buy approvals to the Head of Merchandise to ensure optimal stock levels and investment timing.
- Act as the technical planning expert, contributing essential insights to Range planning alongside the Head of Merchandise and Buyer.
- Prepare, finalise, and present the core planning components of the Board Report, including detailed analysis of stock positions, OTB spend charts, forward cover, and quantified risk assessment summaries for senior leadership.
- Manage the daily workflow and task delegation for the Senior Planner, ensuring all planning processes run efficiently and on schedule.
- Lead detailed sales tracking and trend identification; conduct ad hoc analysis to proactively surface commercial opportunities and mitigate inventory risks.
- Actively seek and implement opportunities to streamline planning processes and improve the accuracy of data and reporting systems.
Who You Are
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, or a highly analytical retail role.
- Proven experience in a Senior Planner, Lead Planner, or Planning Manager role with demonstrated ability to guide or supervise technical staff is required (1-2 years of direct management experience is sufficient).
- Background in fashion or trend-driven product categories is preferred.
- Experience in e-commerce, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), and B2B exposure is highly advantageous.
- Must be an "Excel and systems wizard" with exceptional analytical, data management, and technical skills (experience with advanced planning systems highly desirable).
- A mature operator who works autonomously, drives results through data, and uses lateral thinking to propose solutions.
- Possesses a calendar-centric and structured system for time management to ensure strict adherence to monthly planning workflows.
- Agile in identifying and quantifying emerging market trends.
