Music Publicist – 6-Month Maternity Cover
(Full-Time OR Part-Time (Min. 3 Days/Week) with Strong Permanent Potential)
Are you a storyteller? Do you have a contact list full of tastemakers and a playlist for every mood?
At Lime Tree Music, we don’t just send press releases; we build connections across the global Country and Americana music communities. Over the last two years, we have achieved strong growth within the Australian market, building an exciting, vibrant roster of both international and domestic artists.
We are looking for a self-motivated, high-energy Music Publicist to join our team remotely. This position is initially a 6-month maternity contract to cover the leave of a pivotal Australian-based team member. However, we have a strong view to making this a permanent position afterward, as we hope the right candidate will help us continue to build a strong, dedicated team in the territory.
The Flexibility
This has the option of being either a full-time or part-time position (min. 3 days per week), allowing you to balance your career with your lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
Working remotely alongside our global team, you will be the driving force for our artists in the Southern Hemisphere:
- Execute Campaigns: Develop and execute creative online, print and influencer-led PR campaigns, primarily targeting media across Australia and New Zealand.
- Drive Radio Success: Service new music to radio stations, focusing on maximizing airplay and climbing the Countrytown Hot 50 chart.
- Be the Face of the Agency: Occasionally travel to Sydney, Brisbane, or other major hubs to attend media days, music festivals, and live events to accompany artist interviews and maintain industry connections.
- Leverage Your Network: Independently use your existing personal relationships with journalists, broadcast contacts, and influencers to secure top-tier coverage.
- Champion the Brand: Represent the Lime Tree Music brand professionally within the local music industry.
- Keep Across the Details: Maintain up-to-date media contact lists and compile clear, professional monthly client reports.
Experience and Skills
- The Track Record: 2+ years of relevant experience working in a music/entertainment PR or radio promotion role, backed by a portfolio of successful campaigns.
- Market Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Australian Country music landscape, including key editorial targets, radio stations, and national outlets.
- Independent Hustle: A reliable team player who thrives working independently in a remote environment.
- Communication Mastery: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can pitch a story to a major outlet just as easily as you can write a formal client report.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with office software (Google Workspace), AI tools, and standard PR tools like Muck Rack.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Music Business is preferred, but your real-world results matter most.
The Perks & Benefits
- Competitive Salary: Dependent on hours and experience (based on a full-time benchmark of $65k–$68k AUD per annum) + 12% Superannuation
- Leave: Holiday allowance plus public holidays.
- Expenses Covered: All approved travel and event expenses paid.
- Growth: A dedicated training and development plan to help you progress as the agency expands.
