The Opportunity
An opportunity exists for an experienced ESG / Sustainability professional to step into a management role at a super fund during a parental leave period.
Our client is an ethically focussed super fund that are driven to contribute to contribute to positive social and environmental impacts.
This role offers the chance to lead a critical phase of development, with a strong emphasis on data, technology, and product ownership, while ensuring continuity of core sustainable investment screening activities. You will play a central role in shaping and embedding next-generation ESG screening and monitoring capabilities, including AI-supported tools.
Alongside this, you will lead a small team responsible for delivering high-quality ESG and sustainability screening outcomes across a diverse range of listed asset classes.
The company works flexibly and this role is fully remote position (but must be based in Australia).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the non-technical aspects of product and technology stack development for the listed sustainable investments team, coordinating with internal technology teams and external data providers.
- Own the development and implementation of ESG data and screening infrastructure, ensuring delivery to scope and timeline.
- Manage and develop a team of Sustainable Investments Analysts, providing direction, support, and continuity across ESG screening.
- Oversee ethical screening across listed portfolios, ensuring outputs align with defined sustainability criteria and standards.
- Act as the key escalation point for complex or judgement-based ESG screening decisions.
- Maintain deep expertise in ESG data, systems, and listed market screening approaches.
- Foster a collaborative team environment in a remote-first setting.
About You
You bring a blend of technical ESG capability, project management experience, and delivery focus, with an exposure to listed markets.
Core Experience & Skills
- Experience in sustainable investing, ESG research, or responsible investment highly regarded.
- Demonstrated capability in ESG product, data, or technology ownership within investment teams.
- Understanding of ESG data systems, screening methodologies, and data providers.
- Either proven team leadership experience or willingness to step up into a management role.
- Project management capability - able to drive delivery to timelines and scope
- Ability to make sound, defensible decisions within defined frameworks.
- 4+ years of experience across ESG projects and/or investments.
Beneficial Knowledge
- Familiarity with global reporting frameworks and standards (e.g. ASRS, PRI, IFRS S1/S2 or similar).
- Experience across listed asset classes, such as equities, fixed income, and related securities highly regarded.

- Delivery of a fit-for-purpose ESG data and technology stack supporting screening and monitoring.
- Timely and high-quality completion of screening projects and BAU activities.
- A supported, engaged analyst team.
- Clear documentation and seamless handover at the conclusion of the contract.
