About Investability
Investability is a founder-led investor relations and capital markets communications firm working with a select group of ASX-listed and pre-IPO companies across resources, energy transition, technology and healthcare.
Since launching in January 2020 we have built a reputation for senior access, high-quality work and consistent client outcomes. Our clients span Australia, North America and Europe.
Our edge is that our advice comes from inside the market rather than beside it. We combine genuine buy-side and sell-side experience with communications craft, so the strategies we build reflect what actually moves a share register. We are small, direct and trusted by founders and CEOs, and we intend to stay that way.
The Role
This is the delivery engine of the Australian business.
From reviewing ASX announcements at market open, to building investor presentations, setting up client roadshows and giving advice to CEOs – you will be the primary contact across a portfolio of clients, end to end.
New business development sits with the Principal and the Investor Relations Director. Your commercial responsibility is different, and for a firm like ours just as valuable: keep clients, deepen the relationships and grow the accounts you hold.
This is not a support role, it will suit someone who has been doing strong work inside a larger agency, a broking firm or an in-house team, and who wants a portfolio of their own with more ownership.
What You'll Do
Client delivery and account management
- Act as day-to-day contact for a portfolio of ASX-listed and pre-IPO retainer clients, and primary client contact after a short ramp period.
- Run the operating cadence: agendas, client calls, work-in-progress, action tracking, follow-through and reporting.
- Provide direct, pragmatic counsel to Managing Directors, CEOs and boards on investor messaging, positioning and market engagement. Advice, not just execution.
- Hold the quality line on everything that leaves the firm for your clients.
- Handle price-sensitive information with absolute discretion.
Capital markets communications
- Draft and review ASX announcements, investor presentations, shareholder letters, Q&A briefs, factsheets and CEO communications.
- Shape investor narratives and messaging frameworks, and keep them current as the story develops.
- Support clients through capital raises: positioning, timing of news flow, and the materials that carry the raise.
- Run shareholder register analysis and peer monitoring, and translate what you find into practical advice.
Investor engagement, roadshows and events
- Plan and run roadshows, investor briefings, webinars and site visits with brokers, institutions, family offices and analysts.
- Coordinate client presence across the conference circuit, including RIU, 121, Noosa and Diggers & Dealers.
- Brief and coach client CEOs before they present, and give them the honest read afterwards.
- Build and maintain your own relationships across brokers, fund managers and financial media, and put them to work for clients.
Account growth and retention
- Ensure client satisfaction across your portfolio. Owning client retention is a key KPI for this role.
- Identify where a client needs more than they are currently buying, and build the case for it.
- Spot the inflection points, a raise, a maiden resource, a re-rate, a new market, where our services matter most, and get in front of them early.
- Feed intelligence from your portfolio back to the Principal to support new business.
Team and systems
- Brief, review and mentor associates working on your accounts.
- Contribute to the systems and operating cadence that keep delivery consistent as the firm scales.
Who This Role Suits
Likely backgrounds:
- Broking. Dealer's Assistant, Associate Adviser or Adviser.
- Investor relations or financial PR consulting. Account Executive or Account Manager in a larger Investor Relations firm, ready for more autonomy than a large agency offers.
- In-house investor relations at an ASX-listed small or mid-cap.
- Resources or capital markets journalism.
What We're Looking For
Non-negotiable
- Experience across investor relations, capital markets or a closely related client-facing role..
- Capital markets mechanics. Placements, SPPs, entitlement offers, escrow, ASX Listing Rules 3.1, 7.1 and 10.11, continuous disclosure obligations and director trading windows.
- Sharp written communications. You can draft a market announcement, investor update, media release and CEO LinkedIn post without three rewrites, and you are editorially confident enough to push back on a client's draft.
- Client-facing presence. You can sit across from a Managing Director and give real advice rather than take notes, and you stay calm under deadline pressure.
- Investor ecosystem knowledge across the Perth and Sydney resources scene. Family offices, micro-cap funds and the conference circuit.
- Organisational discipline. A portfolio of clients means competing deadlines across multiple companies, and nothing slips.
Nice to have
- ASX resources and mining fluency. JORC Inferred vs Indicated, scoping study vs DFS, why a maiden resource matters, and what moves a copper-gold explorer's share price.
- Existing broker and fund manager relationships.
- Experience through an IPO, a compliance listing or a significant capital raise.
- RG146 accreditation, or familiarity with the market integrity rules from a broking background.
- Familiarity with IR tech stacks (CRM, Transpond, Mailchimp, HotCopper, Monday.com).
- A credible and active LinkedIn presence.
- A finance, journalism, communications or geology degree.
Why Join Investability
- A portfolio of your own, with real autonomy from day one.
- Direct work with the Principal on high-impact mandates.
- Exposure to C-suite executives across ASX-listed companies, and to the transactions that shape the sector.
- A small team where your work is visible and your contribution is easy to point to.
- Genuine scope to grow into senior leadership as the Australian business expands.
- Remote-first and flexible, based in Sydney or Perth. We work ASX market hours because our clients do.
