Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and learner-focused Academic Advisor / Instructional Designer / ESL Teacher to support student success through academic advising, curriculum development, and English language instruction. This multifaceted role combines educational guidance, instructional design, and teaching to create engaging learning experiences and help learners achieve their academic and professional goals.
The successful candidate will provide academic advising by helping students develop study plans, understand program requirements, and identify educational pathways that align with their goals. You will monitor academic progress, provide individualized guidance, and connect learners with appropriate resources to support their success.
In the instructional design function, you will develop and enhance learning materials, online courses, assessments, and instructional resources using learner-centered design principles. You will collaborate with faculty and academic teams to create engaging, accessible, and effective learning experiences across various delivery formats.
As an ESL Teacher, you will plan and deliver English language lessons that develop learners' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. You will create interactive classroom or online learning activities, assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of learners with diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels.
Additional responsibilities include evaluating learning outcomes, supporting curriculum improvement initiatives, maintaining academic records, preparing instructional materials, and staying informed about current educational technologies and teaching methodologies. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and passionate about education, language learning, and student development.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of academic advising, instructional design, and English language teaching principles.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, learning assessment, and instructional methodologies.
- Ability to design engaging learning materials, online courses, and educational resources.
- Understanding of adult learning theories and learner-centered instructional practices.
- Excellent English language proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to learners with diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and educational technologies.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to assess learner progress and provide constructive, individualized feedback.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a student-centered approach.
