Founding Engineer

About Follow Me AIFollow Me AI is a Queensland-based startup developing a vertical AI platform for sport, fitness, and allied health. We bring together deep expertise in sports and exercise science with cutting-edge computer vision and generative AI, enabling the automation of complex physiological and biomechanical testing, movement analysis, and personalised exercise prescription.

Our first customer is the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), where our technology powers the Youfor2032 Talent ID app—a world-first app identifying Queensland’s next generation of Olympians and Paralympians.

Backed by a $1.5M government R&D grant and pre-seed investors, we are scaling into new use-cases across sport and allied-health.

What You’ll Do

• Own & maintain our React Native app and Django backend, ensuring robustness at scale.
• Lead release planning & enhancements, managing infrastructure on Azure Cloud.
• Design & guide architecture for new products (AI-driven exercise prescription, API integrations, partner platforms).
• Provide hands-on support to customers, meeting SLAs and solving complex technical challenges.
• Prototype & iterate using GenAI, no-code/low-code tools, and agentic AI approaches.
• Build & mentor the team, collaborating with junior devs, local and off-shore contractors, and computer vision researchers.

What We’re Looking For_Must have:_

• 4–7+ years full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong skills with React Native, Django/Python, PostgreSQL, Azure Cloud.
• End-to-end lifecycle experience with iOS and Android apps.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and customer impact.
• Proficient with AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, etc.).

Nice to have:

• Experience defining technical architecture & product roadmaps.
• Prior team leadership/mentoring.
• Familiarity with GenAI/LLM integration, AI agents, or CV/ML pipelines.
• Background in healthtech or sportstech.
• Comfort with no-code/low-code prototyping tools.
