Welfare and Support Coordinator (Part Time)
Job Description
Posted on: February 18, 2026
5 days per week | Part-time | Work from home (Australia-wide)
Our workers are based across Australia — and as part of our national Welfare Team, you can be too. This role is fully remote, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while supporting workers across the country.
We’re looking for a calm, capable person who genuinely cares about people — someone who can support workers confidently while keeping structure, boundaries and documentation strong.
At Exact Labour Hire, we’re a small, family-owned Australian business providing ethical, fully compliant workforce solutions across hospitality, agriculture, tourism, food processing and manufacturing.
As an Approved Employer under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, we support workers from the Pacific and Timor-Leste to live and work safely in Australia. We’re structured, values-driven and committed to doing things properly — with care, integrity and consistency.
The Role
This is a hands-on welfare and people-support role where you’ll be a primary contact for workers across their employment journey.
You’ll communicate with workers before they arrive in Australia, support them through induction and settling in, check in regularly on wellbeing and behaviour, manage performance improvement plans, and respond to incidents or concerns when they arise.
You’ll balance empathy with accountability — offering support while reinforcing clear expectations and compliance standards.
If you’re steady under pressure, confident managing sensitive conversations, and comfortable keeping accurate records, this role will suit you well.
What You’ll Do
- Communicate with workers prior to arrival in Australia and introduce welfare support pathways
- Deliver inductions covering behaviour, safety and workplace expectations
- Maintain regular welfare check-ins with workers across multiple states
- Manage performance improvement plans and behavioural coaching processes
- Respond to incidents and provide welfare support when issues arise
- Manage worker grievances and maintain the issues log
- Maintain a structured schedule of important worker communications
- Coordinate and track required training and certifications (e.g. RSA, Food Safety — excluding driver licensing)
- Maintain quarterly check-ins with host welfare contacts
- Keep accurate case notes, logs and documentation
- Escalate risks appropriately to the Director
- Participate in the after-hours welfare phone roster (4 nights per fortnight)
About You
- Calm, steady and professional under pressure
- Confident managing difficult conversations with empathy and boundaries
- Highly organised with strong follow-through
- Comfortable documenting conversations and maintaining accurate records
- Clear communicator, culturally aware and able to use simple English
- Comfortable working independently from home
- 3+ years’ experience in HR, welfare, employee relations, case management or workforce coordination
- Confident using Excel and digital systems
- Current driver’s licence
- Willing to travel on an ad hoc basis to meet workers when required
Hours & Flexibility
- 5 days per week | 5 hours per day includes
- Two days worked until 6:00pm AEST
- One day worked until 8:00pm AEST
- After-hours phone roster: 4 nights per fortnight
- Flexibility is important as our workforce spans time zones.
What We Offer
- Remote work from anywhere in Australia
- Laptop and phone provided
- Small, supportive team environment
- Clear systems and processes
- Competitive pay + super + after-hours allowance
- Opportunity to grow as the business expands
