Role Description This part-time remote Automation Test Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites for web and software applications. The Automation Test Engineer collaborates with developers, product owners, and other testers to understand requirements, define test strategies, and ensure that new features and enhancements meet quality standards. Daily responsibilities include creating and updating automated test scripts, executing test runs, analyzing results, documenting defects, and verifying fixes. The role also involves maintaining test environments, contributing to continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and suggesting improvements to testing processes and tools to increase efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in test engineering practices, including designing and improving automated test frameworks and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with test execution and working with structured test cases to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Proficiency in software testing concepts, including functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
  • Ability to apply functional testing techniques to verify that systems behave according to specifications and user requirements.
  • Experience with at least one test automation tool or framework (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG) and familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language commonly used in test automation (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, C#).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a distributed, remote team environment.
  • Experience with agile or scrum development environments and version control systems such as Git.
  • Relevant education or certifications in computer science, engineering, software testing, or a related field are preferred but not required.
