Role DescriptionThe Credit Analyst / Risk Analyst is responsible for assessing creditworthiness, evaluating financial and operational risks, and providing analytical insights that support sound lending, investment, and business decisions. This role analyzes financial data, market conditions, and risk indicators to identify potential exposures and recommend appropriate risk management strategies.Key responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, credit reports, cash flow data, and other relevant information to evaluate the financial strength of individuals, businesses, or investment opportunities. The role conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess credit risk, industry performance, market trends, and overall business viability.The position prepares credit assessment reports, financial analyses, risk evaluations, and recommendations that support credit approvals, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making. It also monitors existing portfolios, identifies changes in credit quality or risk exposure, and recommends appropriate actions to minimize potential losses.The role supports the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, credit policies, internal controls, and portfolio monitoring procedures. It also assists with regulatory compliance, stress testing, scenario analysis, and risk reporting to ensure adherence to organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Collaboration with finance, compliance, operations, and business teams is essential to evaluate financial risks, improve decision-making processes, and strengthen organizational risk management practices. The role also contributes to enhancing analytical models, reporting methodologies, and risk assessment processes to improve operational efficiency and analytical accuracy.QualificationsStrong understanding of credit analysis, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, risk assessment, and lending principles. Ability to evaluate financial performance and identify key credit, operational, and business risks.Proficiency in spreadsheet applications, financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools. Familiarity with credit assessment systems, risk management software, and business intelligence platforms is an advantage.Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information, assess risk exposure, and provide practical recommendations.Knowledge of credit risk management, portfolio analysis, cash flow analysis, financial ratio analysis, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional reports, present analytical findings, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
