The Role The Compliance Team works to protect Square, Square Sellers, and enable safe growth across our ecosystem. Square’s APAC Transaction Monitoring Team is looking for an operations team member to assist with compliance tasks within the merchant commerce space. Reporting to the Square’s APAC Transaction Monitoring Lead, you will perform detailed analysis and manage compliance queues. You will analyze and manage Compliance cases in accordance with established procedures and identify any non-compliances relating to the Compliance Program and manage accordingly. These functions include supporting know your customer processes and other components of the compliance program as required. This role is fully remote based in Australia only. You Will

  • Conduct analysis of customer activities for non-compliance in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Monitor Compliance Queues and Cases in a timely and effective manner
  • Use policies to decision cases and escalate as appropriate
  • Maintain or exceed established service level agreements and guidelines
  • Manage internal escalations through multiple channels (Internal Communication Systems, Customer Relationship Management systems) from stakeholders
  • Conduct analysis of transactional and customer activity for non-compliant activity and escalate suspicious activity as needed
  • Advocate for customers and suggesting improvements to Square processes and products
  • Assist with the development of policies and program
  • Entry level regulatory advice on Square Policies and Procedures
  • Undertake small projects and compliance program enhancements
  • Participate in team planning and team meetings
  • Proactively and positively engage in the team environment and support the compliance team

You Have

  • 1-3 years of AML CTF and Compliance Operations Experience
  • Australia based (preferably in Melbourne)
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment
  • Strong research abilities
  • Desire to improve the customer experience
  • Passion for Square and interest in the technology industry
  • Experience working in a finance or risk environment
  • Effective analysis and and investigative skills

Nice to Have

  • Relevant tertiary education
  • Fin-tech, Banking or insurance industry experience
