We are now inviting AHPRA-registered Medical Practitioners to join our growing clinical network—offering the flexibility of remote work within a highly supportive, technology-enabled practice.
The Role
As an Authorised Prescriber Doctor at Avahn Health, you will deliver high-quality telehealth consultations within a diverse clinical caseload. Your role includes:
● Providing comprehensive telehealth consultations with a focus on chronic condition management.
● Conducting clinical assessments, prescribing Schedule 4 & Schedule 8 medicinal cannabis products, and managing titration and follow-up reviews.
● Using Avahn’s digital-first ecosystem, including structured consultation templates, AI-supported decision tools, integrated EHR workflows, and direct pharmacy integration.
● Collaborating with clinical administration, pharmacy partners, and internal support teams to ensure seamless patient experiences.
● Maintaining compliance with TGA guidelines, state regulations, medico-legal standards, RTPM systems, and privacy legislation.
● Ensuring accurate, timely clinical documentation within our digital health record systems.
● Providing consistent weekly availability and advance scheduling to support continuity of care.

Minimum Availability
To ensure continuity of care, successful applicants must commit to a minimum of 2-4 hours per week (flexible across Monday to Friday). Additional hours are available for clinicians seeking greater patient volume.
What You BringRegistration & Experience
● Current AHPRA General or Specialist Registration, with no conditions, undertakings, supervision requirements, or practice restrictions (fully independent practice).
● Background in emergency, urgent care, general practice, or telehealth.
Clinical Competency
● Ability to confidently deliver 10-20 minute consultations (~4–6 patients per hour) while maintaining high standards of rapport, safety, and clinical care.
● Strong clinical judgment with an evidence-based, harm-reduction-focused approach.
Regulatory Knowledge
● Understanding of S8 prescribing regulations, privacy legislation, RTPM systems, and medico-legal responsibilities.
Digital Fluency
● High proficiency navigating digital platforms, telehealth tools, and EHR systems.
Professional Requirements
● Independent Medical Indemnity Insurance.
● Private, professional environment suitable for telehealth delivery.
● Prior cannabinoid prescribing experience is highly desirable, though not required— training provided.

Successful applicants will complete structured onboarding to master the Avahn Health ecosystem. You will receive:

Remuneration & BenefitsFinancial
● Highly competitive rates: $200–$250 per hour, depending on experience.
