We're looking for Environmental Science experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build and train cutting-edge AI models by developing rigorous, real-world scientific problems that push the boundaries of machine reasoning. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for working scientists and researchers who want to apply their domain expertise in a new and impactful way. Full training support is provided — no prior AI experience needed.

What You'll Do

• Design, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with real-world relevance and scientific rigor
• Apply deep expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related disciplines to craft complex, nuanced problem statements
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen AI model reasoning and accuracy
• Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, depth, and clarity
• Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific precision and communicative clarity
• Work independently on task-based assignments at your own pace and schedule

Who You Are

• Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science or a closely related field
• Deep expertise in one or more areas: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, environmental policy, or earth systems science
• Comfortable coding in Python or R for research, data analysis, or modeling
• Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science clearly and precisely
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable when working independently
• Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or AI training workflows
• Background in scientific writing, peer review, or research publication
• Experience working across interdisciplinary teams or in collaborative research environments
• Familiarity with AI tools or large language model evaluation as an end user
