Environmental Science Expert (AI Training)About The Role What if your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, or sustainability could directly shape how AI understands and reasons about the world's most urgent environmental challenges? We're looking for Environmental Science experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build and train cutting-edge AI models by developing rigorous, real-world scientific problems that push the boundaries of machine reasoning. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for working scientists and researchers who want to apply their domain expertise in a new and impactful way. Full training support is provided — no prior AI experience needed.

What You'll Do
- Design, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with real-world relevance and scientific rigor
- Apply deep expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related disciplines to craft complex, nuanced problem statements
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen AI model reasoning and accuracy
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, depth, and clarity
- Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific precision and communicative clarity
- Work independently on task-based assignments at your own pace and schedule
Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science or a closely related field
- Deep expertise in one or more areas: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, environmental policy, or earth systems science
- Comfortable coding in Python or R for research, data analysis, or modeling
- Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science clearly and precisely
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable when working independently
- Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or AI training workflows
- Background in scientific writing, peer review, or research publication
- Experience working across interdisciplinary teams or in collaborative research environments
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language model evaluation as an end user
