Biology Specialist (Masters/PhDs) - AI TrainingAbout The Role What if your years of advanced biology training could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for Biology Specialists with graduate-level expertise to help build and refine cutting-edge AI models — ensuring they think with the rigor, depth, and accuracy that real science demands. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for scientists who want to apply their expertise beyond the bench. No prior AI experience needed — just deep domain knowledge and a sharp scientific mind.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, rigorous problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated biological reasoning for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance how AI models reason through biological concepts
  • Ensure every deliverable meets high standards of scientific rigor and precision

Who You Are

  • Holds a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field — Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or equivalent
  • Deep expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
  • Comfortable working with Python or R in a research or analytical context
  • Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science with clarity and precision
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable when working independently
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation systems
  • Background in computational biology, systems biology, or adjacent quantitative fields
  • Experience designing research problems, exam questions, or educational content at the graduate level
  • Familiarity with AI tools or large language model workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Put your advanced scientific training to work in a high-impact, forward-looking field
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
