Aged Care Justice Committee Secretary
Aged Care Justice (ACJ) is seeking an experienced Committee Secretary to join and support the governance of our growing specialist community legal centre.

- Approximately 5 hours per month
- Six Committee meetings per year, held bi-monthly, including the AGM
- Meetings held remotely via Zoom

ACJ is a national charity and specialist legal centre assisting older Australians and their families to resolve disputes with aged care providers. We provide free initial legal support, legal education and referrals to specialist lawyers, while advocating for law reform across the aged care sector. Established in 2020 by senior legal and clinical professionals, our aim is to ensure that all Australians receiving aged care have access to quality care and are treated with dignity and respect.
Working closely with the Chair, CEO and Committee, the Committee Secretary will support the effective administration and governance of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- coordinating Committee meetings, including preparation and distribution of agendas and Committee papers;
- attending meetings and preparing accurate minutes;
- maintaining Committee, governance and organisational records and registers;
- coordinating the Annual General Meeting and associated requirements;
- supporting compliance with ACJ’s Constitution and relevant corporate and regulatory obligations;
- monitoring actions and decisions arising from Committee meetings;
- assisting with governance policies, processes and reporting; and
- providing governance and administrative support to the Chair, CEO and Committee as required.
About you
The ideal candidate will have company secretarial, governance, legal or senior Committee administration experience, together with a sound understanding of not-for-profit governance and compliance. This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise to a growing national organisation working to improve access to justice and the protection of older people’s legal rights in aged care.
