Position Overview
As the Agile Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality software projects using Agile methodologies. You will be responsible for guiding teams through the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with business goals. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and continuous delivery, while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Agile Projects: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of multiple Agile projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to business goals.
- Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Organize and facilitate key Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, priorities, and deliverables.
- Ensure Transparency: Maintain transparency across all teams and stakeholders by providing regular project updates, risk assessments, and clear communication about timelines and progress.
- Remove Roadblocks: Identify potential roadblocks and work with the team to resolve any issues that may impede progress.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to adapt and enhance processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Risk Management: Proactively manage and mitigate project risks and escalate issues when necessary.
- Agile Coaching: Act as an Agile champion and mentor, helping team members adopt and continuously improve Agile practices and principles.
- Resource Management: Work with the leadership team to allocate resources effectively and manage team capacity to meet project goals.
- Track and Report Progress: Use tools like JIRA, Trello, or others to track project progress, manage backlogs, and generate reports for stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments and external partners to ensure smooth execution of Agile projects.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Agile Project Manager or Scrum Master, with a track record of delivering software projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks).
- Strong understanding of Agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience using Agile project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or similar tools.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, ensuring collaboration and high levels of engagement.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience in risk management and issue resolution.
- A certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.
- A degree in project management, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Knowledge of Australian industry standards and regulations is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing large-scale projects in a distributed or remote work environment.
- Familiarity with product management and experience working with product teams.
- Experience in a particular industry such as finance, healthcare, or tech is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data-driven decision-making and performance metrics.
