Who is Aalto
Aalto is a healthcare startup rethinking what clear aligner treatment should look and feel like.
We bring together local dentists, specialist orthodontists and smart remote monitoring to deliver orthodontic care designed around how people actually live — fewer unnecessary appointments, clearer treatment, and specialist involvement without the traditional song and dance.
We’re building Aalto to feel more like the best modern consumer brands than traditional dentistry: credible without being clinical, premium without being inaccessible, and confident without shouting.
We’re still early, growing quickly, and building a lot.
And right now, one of the biggest things we want to build properly is our customer lifecycle.
The role
We’re looking for a Lifecycle Marketing / CRM operator to build Aalto’s lifecycle program from the ground up across Australia and the United States.
This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to send campaigns.
We want someone who thinks deeply about what happens after someone becomes a lead — where they drop off, what they need to hear next, when email makes sense, when SMS makes sense, when a human should step in, and how we continually improve conversion from one stage to the next.
You’ll work closely with our Growth Lead and patient sales team to create a connected lifecycle across the entire Aalto journey.
Think:
Quiz → booking → appointment → scans → treatment start → onboarding → treatment → completion → referral
Our customer journeys differ by market.
What you'll own
- Map Aalto’s end-to-end customer lifecycle and identify the biggest opportunities and drop-off points
- Build our CRM and lifecycle strategy from the ground up
- Create and optimise automated email and SMS journeys
- Develop segmentation based on behaviour, lifecycle stage, intent and customer needs
- Build journeys around quiz completion, booking abandonment, appointment attendance, no-shows, treatment consideration and reactivation
- Build lifecycle logic specific to both the Australian and US customer journeys
- Create smarter handoffs between automation and our patient sales team
- Turn customer behaviour and sales feedback into new lifecycle experiments
- Build reactivation programs across our existing lead database
- Develop onboarding and patient communications after treatment begins
- Own lifecycle testing, reporting and optimisation
- Work closely with our Growth Lead to feed CRM learnings back into the wider funnel
- Help define the events, data and integrations required to make the system work properly
What we're looking for
You’ve built lifecycle or CRM programs before — ideally from an early or relatively immature starting point.
You’re comfortable being both strategic and hands-on.
You don’t just think in emails. You think in customer behaviour, triggers, conversion, segmentation and what needs to happen next.
You care about open rates and clicks, but you care much more about whether people actually move forward.
You’ll likely be strong across:
- Lifecycle strategy
- CRM and marketing automation
- Email + SMS
- Klaviyo and/or similar platforms
- Segmentation and behavioural triggers
- Customer journey mapping
- Experimentation and optimisation
- Conversion-focused copy and messaging
- CRM data and event architecture
- Commercial reporting
Experience in health, wellness, DTC, telehealth, finance, education or another considered-purchase category would be particularly relevant.
Experience building lifecycle programs across multiple markets, particularly the US, would be highly regarded.
What success looks like
We’re not hiring you to hit a campaign-send target.
We want to see:
- More leads booking
- More bookings attending
- More high-intent leads progressing to treatment
- Fewer opportunities disappearing between stages
- More old leads reactivated
- Better coordination between CRM, growth and sales
- Clear visibility into where customers are progressing or dropping off
- A lifecycle system that gets smarter over time
The setup
We’re initially looking at this as a fractional / contract role, with the potential to grow from there.
This is a remote role open to applicants across Australia.
You’ll have genuine ownership. There isn’t a mature CRM machine waiting for you to maintain — you’ll help build it.
- If you’ve built something like this before, we’d love to hear what you built, what you personally owned, and what changed as a result.
