Contract Type: Full-time

Package: $120,000 + Superannuation + Uncapped Bonuses

Role Overview

The Business Development & Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across the Workforce Planning Institute (WPI) and SWP Conference portfolio. This includes identifying and securing new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and managing sales across our full suite of offerings including sponsorships, partnerships, exhibition space and digital content. Occasional domestic and international travel to attend or support conferences and client meetings is required.

This is a hands-on commercial role ideal for someone who is proactive, relationship-driven, and excited by the opportunity to help shape the growth of a dynamic, global organisation.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and convert new revenue opportunities across conferences, digital content, and training programs.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of sponsorship, booth sales and partnership.
  • Create and deliver tailored proposals that align with client needs and WPI’s strategic goals.

Partnership & Account Management

  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with commercial partners and sponsors.
  • Provide excellent service and ongoing communication to maximise retention and satisfaction.
  • Support renewals and grow multi-year commercial partnerships.

Sales Execution

  • Lead outbound sales efforts including calls, emails, meetings, and pitches.
  • Collaborate with marketing and events teams to ensure campaigns and messaging align with commercial objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and report regularly on sales pipeline and performance.

Product Knowledge & Development

  • Gain deep understanding of WPI’s offerings across events, training, and digital content.
  • Provide feedback and insights to enhance our sponsorship packages, learning solutions, and digital opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity to inform commercial strategy.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Revenue generation across all WPI products and events.
  • End-to-end relationship management for new and existing commercial clients.
  • Support in developing and refining commercial offerings based on client demand and market trends.

Success Measures

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
  • Growth in new business and successful onboarding of new partners.
  • High satisfaction and retention rates across commercial clients.
  • Contribution to development and sales of new commercial packages.
