About Us: NETA is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing knowledge and providing support for the epilepsy community. Our weekly newsletter is a key platform for sharing the latest research, personal stories, and insights to inform and connect our audience of patients, caregivers, and professionals.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Volunteer Newsletter Manager to oversee the production and growth of our weekly epilepsy research newsletter. This is a crucial management role responsible for the end-to-end administrative process, from content curation to publication. The ideal candidate will have a passion for neuroscience and a strong desire to contribute their organizational skills to a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Management: Administer the content pipeline, ensuring a consistent and timely flow of high-quality articles, research summaries, and personal stories.
- Contributor Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for our network of volunteer neuroscientists and writers. This includes managing assignments, deadlines, and submissions.
- Editorial Oversight: Perform a final review of all content for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to our editorial style and tone.
- Production & Scheduling: Collaborate with the marketing team to schedule and publish the newsletter using our content management platform. Ensure the newsletter maintains a consistent structure and visual appeal.
- Audience Engagement: Monitor key metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates) to understand audience preferences and identify opportunities to improve engagement and subscriber growth.
- Strategy & Growth: Participate in strategic discussions to brainstorm new content ideas and initiatives that will expand the reach and influence of the newsletter.
Qualifications:
- Proven administrative or project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A background or strong interest in neuroscience, neurology, or a related scientific field.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Familiarity with newsletter platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Substack, etc.) is a plus.
