The Firm
MW Recruitment are partnering with a long-standing firm with deep traditional roots in Queensland. With a rich 40 year history, this dynamic and widely respected accounting and advisory firm is headquartered in Rockhampton, with two (2) other offices across QLD. Employing over 30 professionals and five (5) directors, the firm is well structured and offer a holistic, and comprehensive suite of services, including taxation, business advisory, finance, and superannuation.
They pride themselves on a tailored , relationship focused service to each and every client, and it shows in the countless long standing, and repeat clients they have.
This firm services small to medium-sized enterprises, with particular expertise in the primary production sector.
The Role
Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced, trusted senior accountant to assist with compliance across several groups, and assist in the advisory services as well. It is essential that the incoming candidate has a well known understanding of primary production clients, given this is circa 80% of the portfolio of clients you will be involved in.*Candidates must be based in Queensland, for the purposes of occasional office travel*
As a Senior Business Services & Taxation Accountant you'll:
- Prepare financial statements & tax returns for various entities (excluding SMSFs).
- Assist in the management of a client portfolio.
- Tax planning for clients & provide advice that spans across various client industries.
- Collaborate with the Partner and Managers.
What We’re Looking For:
To be a great fit, you should have:
- 3-5+ years of experience in an Australian accounting firm.
- Completed CA/CPA program (in progress is also fine)
- Significant experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns.
- Comprehensive knowledge on Division 7A, FBT & CGT.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Advisory experience to manage clients and previous mentorship of junior staff.
