Job Description

Posted on: February 6, 2026

I'm working with a FinTech Startup who are a fully bootstrapped, and cash-positive business with no external investors. They provide API-driven phone payment solutions for global clients like the New York Times, Virgin Media, and Bunnings. The engineering team is remote and based in Australia working on Sydney time. The platform is entirely AWS-hosted and they are regularly invited to some of the largest AWS conferences in the world, notably in Las Vegas. Role: Senior Software Engineer Salary: $150k to $160k + Super Stack: Golang, TypeScript, and Python Model: Remote Responsibilities: Involves developing a new greenfield pay-by-link product. Backend heavy role, but do need the FE requirements. Candidates must be self-starters capable of managing vague requirements and taking end-to-end ownership of their work. They value security, stability, and performance in that order. Culture: Flat structure with a small team and no internal politics or forced performance metrics. A lot of flexibility for things like doctors appointments, school drop off/pick up, etc. They are keen on people who want to make a tangible impact on the product. You must be based in Australia and have full Australian working rights to be successful in this role. Sponsorship is not on offer, nor remote work outside of Australia.
