Likeplan is building Australia’s go-to rideshare platform for solo travellers and backpackers. We help travellers share rides, split costs, and create meaningful road trip experiences.

The idea was born from my own solo travel journey across Far North Queensland — and today we’re growing an engaged travel community of 30k+ members while building the tech to support it.

We are early-stage, scrappy, and moving fast.

The Role - Technical Advisor (Volunteer/ Equity Pathway)

I’m looking for a technical advisor who can spend 1–2 hours per week helping me upskill and make smarter technical decisions.

This is an unpaid advisory role for now, ideal for someone who:

• Enjoys mentoring founders
• Is curious about startups
• Wants exposure to an early-stage consumer travel product
• May be interested in stepping into a Founding CTO role later

There is a clear pathway to discuss equity and potential CTO involvement if there is strong alignment and chemistry.

What You'll Actually Do

• Review our current tech architecture
• Help simplify and validate infrastructure decisions
• Provide guidance on scaling and security best practices
• Help me understand how things work under the hood
• Occasionally sanity-check developer proposals
• Advice on product-tech tradeoffs

Who This is Perfect For

• Startup engineer who wants advisory experience
• Senior developer curious about becoming a CTO
• Technical founder who enjoys mentoring
• Someone Brisbane / Gold Coast based (nice to have, not required)

You do not need:

• A Computer Science degree
• Corporate CTO experience
• 10+ years of experience

You do need:

• Strong practical understanding of app + backend architecture
• Clear communication
• Pragmatic, solution-focused mindset
