The Opportunity - Home-based within VIC ,Full-time or Part-time (0.8FTE)
We're creating a new leadership role for someone who wants to shape the future of AAC service delivery across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. You'll lead a team of AAC Consultants while maintaining hands-on involvement with complex cases that challenge and inspire you.
This isn't a traditional management role. We need someone who can balance strategic thinking with clinical excellence - someone who gets energised by both coaching team members and solving tricky AAC puzzles alongside families and speech pathologists.
What You'll DoLead Your Regional Team
- Manage & develop a team of entry-level and Senior AAC Consultants across VIC/SA
- Conduct regular performance reviews & create professional development plans
- Identify skill gaps & provide coaching, training, and mentoring
- Allocate workflow strategically to maximise team strengths and outcomes
Drive Regional Strategy
- Oversee trial and post-trial support offerings, outcomes and team performance metrics
- Develop regional strategies that align with our national goals
- Manage regional budget and resource allocation with the Consultant Director
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and organisations across your regions
Stay Connected to Consultant Work
- Maintain customer contact, on strategically important or complex cases
- Handle escalated customer issues requiring management-level intervention
- Stay up to date with best practice AAC implementation for your team
Collaborate Nationally
- Work alongside other Regional Managers and the Consultant Director
- Contribute to national strategy and service delivery improvements
- Share regional insights that strengthen our organisation-wide approach
Who We're Looking ForEssential:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy with specific AAC experience and interest
- Minimum 4+ years AAC industry experience
- Experience and understanding of Liberator’s AAC Devices, software and related vocabularies
- Previous management and leadership experience in healthcare, education, or assistive technology
- Deep understanding of AAC principles, products, and implementation strategies
- Excellent communication skills—you can translate complex ideas for diverse audiences
- Strong organisational abilities and experience juggling competing priorities
- Comfort with data analysis, along with developing and using metrics to drive improvement
- An understanding of business priorities and ability to support the team to meet business requirements
What Will Set You Apart:
- Experience with budget allocation, delegation and management
- Advanced knowledge of regional service delivery systems and funding mechanisms (NDIS, state-based funding)
- Track record of achieving goals through coaching and supporting team members
- Strategic thinking paired with practical problem-solving
