Job Description

Posted on: June 28, 2025

Are you a passionate Speech Therapist looking for flexibility, variety, and meaningful impact?

Join GCLA, a values-driven not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across regional Queensland.

We are currently seeking a Telehealth/FIFO Speech Therapist to join our expanding Allied Health team. This is a predominantly remote/work-from-home role, ideal for clinicians seeking autonomy, work-life balance, and the opportunity to serve a diverse caseload of NDIS participants, aged care clients, and private customers.

About GCLA

Gladstone Community Linking Agency (GCLA) is a leading not-for-profit provider of disability and aged care services across Central Queensland. For over 45 years, we've supported people of all ages and abilities to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes and communities.

We're proud to be NDIS-registered, Aged Care approved, and Medicare, Department of Veteran Affairs, and WorkCover registered and a Hi-Caps provider, with a strong local reputation for care, quality, and innovation.

As we continue to expand our Allied Health and Telehealth service models, we’re looking for a qualified Speech Therapist to join our values-driven team, wherever you are in Australia.

Why Central Queensland?

Gladstone is a coastal city known for its relaxed lifestyle, gateway access to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and proximity to beautiful regional towns like Agnes Water, Boyne Island, and Tannum Sands. Whether you’re visiting on a FIFO basis or considering a relocation, you’ll experience a welcoming community, rich natural beauty, and affordable living.

About the Role

This role is primarily remote, delivering therapy via Telehealth to NDIS participants, older adults, and private clients. While not essential, it is ideal that the therapist can travel to Gladstone periodically to conduct face-to-face sessions and assessments.

Your caseload will be diverse and rewarding, supporting clients with:

  • Developmental, neurological, or age-related communication needs
  • Swallowing and mealtime management challenges
  • Early intervention and rehabilitation goals

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering services via Telehealth and in-person outreach
  • Completing assessments, interventions, mealtime management plans, and reporting
  • Collaborating with support workers, families, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Ensuring compliance with NDIS, Aged Care, and private practice frameworks

What You Need

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, or ability to obtain
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgement
  • Commitment to person-centred, evidence-based practice
  • Willingness to travel to Gladstone periodically (frequency negotiable)
  • Other worker screening checks
  • National Police check

What We Offer

  • Flexible working arrangements – choose your hours and location
  • FIFO travel, accommodation, and allowances discussed with the successful candidate
  • Diverse and meaningful client base
  • Strong administrative support and digital systems
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development
  • A supportive, mission-led culture where you’ll be valued, heard, and trusted

How to Apply

If you’re passionate about delivering accessible, high-quality speech therapy – wherever you are – we want to hear from you.

For a confidential discussion, contact Elly Lanyon on 07 4972 8855

GCLA is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
